What Would It Cost to Build Your Own U.S. Operation?

Select the resources you would need. We'll estimate an illustrative annual internal operating cost and compare it with the Expanvia Expand model.

Illustrative planning tool — not a quote. Actual costs vary.

Planning at $90,000 each. Larger teams are scoped individually.
Shown as custom — volume-dependent

Employer payroll costs and benefits are added automatically against the roles you select.

Calculation assumptions

This is a planning illustration, not a quote or a statistic. The figures are round planning numbers for a mid-market U.S. operation, and your own costs will differ by state, sector and salary level. Nothing here is an official published benchmark.

  • Role costs are annual base costs per person: sales or business development $90,000 each, customer service and order management $45,000, logistics and operations coordination $65,000, local management $120,000.
  • Employer payroll costs and benefits are added at 22.5% of the role costs you select. That rate is derived from the planning table this tool follows, which carries roughly $45,000 of employer burden against $200,000 of salaries. It covers payroll taxes, benefits and insurance, and it is applied once — the overhead lines below do not repeat it.
  • Overheads are annual: office or flexible workspace $15,000, CRM / IT / communications $10,000, travel and customer visits $20,000, recruiting and training $10,000. Accounting and administration ($10,000) and insurance ($5,000) are shown as two toggles because the source table combines them into a single $15,000 line; selecting both reproduces that figure.
  • Warehousing and fulfillment is never given a number. It depends on volume, storage days and handling, so it is listed as volume-dependent and excluded from the total. It is a real cost, not a free one.
  • Local management is offered as an option and is not part of the baseline selection.
